Bad Side Effects with Vyvanse.please help?

I’m 28 and I just got diagnosed with ADD, my doctor put me on 30mg of Vyvanse. 1st day was fine, I felt like I could focus at work and I was getting alot done. The 2nd day I woke up with a headache and then after taking the meds, my pain didn’t go away. I took aspirin through out the day but just felt ill. I was getting hot flashes and became very moody. I even cried at work and I’m not the crying type. It wasn’t because I felt sick it was because everyone was irritating me. I was about ready to quit my job. I have had problems with depression before but I thought now that I know what was wrong with me things would be better. On the 3th day of taking this medicine I woke up again with a headache I call the doctor and explained that I had a headache for the pass two day. He just said that the medicine was to much for me. He dropped it down to 20mg. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this experience? Does anyone think maybe it’s this medicine or do I need to give it sometime?
Should I ask if I can be switch to a different medicine? I have read many comments that other people have written. I do understand that you get side effects…I get that, but if the bad side effects out way the pros of using this medicine than whats the point?
I am asking for help because I have noticed a difference in my attitude and I am worried that I might fall back into my depressive state.

    if you feel like the side-effects are interfering with your life, just switch medications. chemically, vyvanse is almost identical to adderall if you’d like to try it. for many who don’t react well to adderall/vyvanse, ritalin may work since it’s an entirely different type of drug. there are even some anti-depressants that have been beneficial for ADD symptoms.

    talk to your doctor. try not to mention any drugs by name as that might be considered ‘drug-seeking behavior’.

    be warned that most, if not all, ADD drugs cause headaches. sorry.

    If your worried about a depressive state, you may have been misdiagnosed, because ADD is not linked with depression. It really sounds like you need a second opinion. Also, because these meds are some heavy duty narcotics that you need to go through detox to get off. I work in the medical field and alot of the time these doctors don’t let the patient know what they are in for before they prescribe these meds. Also if you seriously trusted your doctor you wouldn’t be asking these questions online.
